If you do nothing else while in the area, make it a trip to the Old Village Mercantile. Founded circa 1909, this ice cream, novelty and antique shop is a a feast for the eyes (and tastebuds!).

The beauty of Johnson’s Shut-Ins State Park and the surrounding St. Francois Mountains make this a special place to visit. Its rugged character provides the perfect backdrop for camping, hiking, picnicking, splashing, exploring nature or relaxing.

The Old Caledonian Bed & Breakfast resides in the grand Ruggles-Evans-Dent House, which was built in 1849 on four grassy, wood-lined acres right on the main street of Caledonia. This beautiful house is listed on the United States Register of Historic Places.
